What is mindful eating?
Mindfulness in general is doing anything with a greater sense of self-awareness without self-judgment. It’s a neutral state of mind anchored in the present that helps you to be more aware of how you feel. It only takes a brief pause to check in with our bodies, thoughts, and emotions to assess our needs.
Mindful eating is an important part of any health journey. It focuses on paying attention to your body’s physical and emotional signals around food, instead of eating out of habit. By taking part in the Mindful Meals Challenge, you’ll learn ways to become more aware of your eating habits, so you can make better choices that promote good health and well-being.
It’s so much more than just what you eat. Mindful eating helps you understand your habits around how, how much, and when you eat; all components that are just as important as the food itself.
Will Taking A Challenge Make A Difference?
A challenge is a great way to focus on creating healthier habits in a shorter period of time. Unlike trying to do it solo, a challenge offers support, guidance, and motivation from others who are on the same journey as you. There’s no pressure to rush or worry about how long it will take, as the challenge allows you to take the time you need to make mindful eating a part of your life. Move at your own pace if you’d like.

Mindful Meals: Tips for Success
The Mindful Meals Challenge is a great way to jumpstart healthier eating habits and create a better relationship with food. To help you get the most out of the program, here are some tips for success:
- Try not to do all the suggestions at once to avoid overwhelm. Pick and choose the things that are easiest for you to do and make small achievable goals.
- Ask a friend to join the program with you so you can share in the experience and provide mutual support.
- Choose a time that doesn’t coincide with major social events that may make changing eating habits more challenging. That said, feel free to experiment with tips and tools at smaller social events to give them a try.
- Don’t be afraid to challenge yourself! No one is keeping score, so take this opportunity to learn more about yourself and find out what works best for your lifestyle. There’s no wrong way to go about this—you just have to find what works for you.
- This is about approaching cravings and food with a compassionate approach so we can get to know ourselves better and make better choices – not about deprivation or Yet Another Diet.
- Making healthier choices doesn’t have to be daunting. Take it slow, and remember that you don’t have to do it all at once—small steps lead to big changes over time. With the Mindful Meals Challenge, you can begin your journey towards healthier eating habits today!
