Ayuvedic Wisdom for the Fall Season
Ayurveda wisdom teaches us that the major intersections between warm and cool seasons can be a bumpy ride. You, my dear, may feel as if you’re already on this roller coaster. Seasonal transitions can be negotiated with mindfulness and self-compassion with the intention to close the chapter of the previous season. This allows us to be ready to embark on the next chapter.
Fall is a BIG transition so more attention to care and grounding is called for. It’s a turning point. And, I’m afraid it comes down to a choice between being seated comfortably and enjoying the view or being dragged along.
Listen to Smooth Seasonal Transitions on the Her Well Being Podcast.
The Ayurvedic solution to the convergence of these intense energies is to partake in a gentle cleanse to intentionally create a pause and allow ourselves a brief reboot. The hot, intense energy of summer asks to be released before we can comfortably embrace the cooler seasons with open arms. We can do this with a cleansing and nourishing diet and lifestyle over a few consecutive days (or however long you’d like to take a pause) while paying attention to seasonal cues.
With every seasonal transition, the invitation is to let go of what no longer serves us so that we can move on in an intentional and powerful way. What are you ready to release?
The hallmarks of an Ayurvedic seasonal cleanse are its gentle and nurturing approach. It becomes a ritual to help us return to and remember the joy of self-reflection and self-love. I’ve done this myself for years and have shared this transformative wisdom with many women in my consultation practice to help us all maintain balance and calm throughout the year.
