Introducing the ancient science of Ayurveda.
Ayurveda, Yoga’s sister science, has been around for thousands of years so it knows a thing or two about maintaining health and well-being. This ancient wisdom is based on the principles of balance, connecting us to nature and the elements around us. When it comes to detoxing, Ayurveda focuses on using natural methods to reduce and remove toxins so you can have more energy and feel stronger. It also emphasizes eating a balanced, nutritious diet, getting regular exercise, and engaging in activities that promote a peaceful and relaxed state of mind. By taking the time to practice these simple, yet powerful techniques, you can start your journey to unlocking vitality and vibrant health.
How Toxins Can Erode Your Health
Ayurveda has known for a long, long time that gut health is essential to overall health and well-being; in other words, how we digest our food is everything. However, when toxins get in our system we’re dealing with bad bacteria and pathogens that can thwart our most well-intentioned wellness efforts. We may unknowingly ingest toxins in a few different ways in our everyday life: our food supply, water supply, personal care products, and environment to just name a few. This increases our toxic load every day. When toxins accumulate in our body-mind system, we can feel bogged down, sluggish, tired, and congested. We can feel this in our gut and minds as well. We might have a low mood, feel unmotivated, get caught up in negative thinking, or just feel foggy. There’s an overall sense of yuck. What can you do?
Reduce Your Exposure To Toxins
The first thing you can do is reduce your exposure to toxins. This means paying more attention to ingredients and eating more whole foods than processed ones. It can also mean filtering your water at home and buying spring water at your local grocery store. Many stores have gallon jugs that you can refill. Plastic is a big source of toxins that can invade the system so reducing them in all manners will also help reduce your load. This means saying no to plastic dishware, storage containers, water bottles, and the like. This is good for our environment, too!
Flush Toxins Naturally With Whole Foods
You can also begin to encourage your body to release toxins by eating healthy, whole foods that are high in fiber. Good gut bugs love plant fiber and it has a cleansing effect on our digestion.
Eating healthy, plant-based whole foods will also give you more energy and help you feel stronger.
Gut bugs also love ghee, Ayurveda’s favorite healthy fat, because it’s rich in the fatty acid that is produced when good gut bugs break down dietary fiber. There are other helpful foods you can add to your diet to help your body naturally flush toxins and restore your gut. Learn more superfoods, Ayurvedic, and otherwise at The Gut Cleanse Masterclass. See below for details.
Flush Toxins Naturally With Ayurvedic Self-Care
Incorporating certain Ayurvedic self-care practices can also help flush toxins from the body naturally and safely. One of the most important Ayurvedic self-care practices is self-massage or abhyanga. Doing self-massage regularly activates the lymphatic system and helps your body release toxins naturally. It can even boost circulation, which helps to improve your digestion, which is a key component in toxin removal. Adding Ayurvedic self-care to your routine can help you to flush toxins from your body and keep them away. Don’t have time for a cleanse? No problem.
The good news is that you don’t have to commit to a dedicated cleanse. Instead, think of it as many little things that can make a big difference over time. Don’t worry about doing everything at once. In fact, please don’t do everything at once. That’s a recipe for disaster and disappointment. Take just one step at a time until they become part of your lifestyle. Some things you’ll love. Others you won’t. It doesn’t matter! Taking a few steps is better than taking none. Do something. Once you do, you’ll be excited to move on to the next “thing” once you start to feel lighter and have more energy.
